IP66 - what does that actually mean?

The IP code (Ingress Protection) describes the influences against which a product is protected.
The first digit stands for protection against foreign objects (such as dust), and the second for protection against moisture.

IP66 ("fully robust", "fully-rugged") means:

- IP6X: The device is completely protected against dust (dustproof)
- IPX6: The device is protected against powerful water jets
