Leipzig Waterworks relies on fully robust V110 notebook
Getac’s mobile solution enables efficient and secure digital processes in the operation and maintenance of the water network.
Challenge
When operating and maintaining the water infrastructure in Leipzig and the surrounding communities, field workers rely on reliable mobile devices for use in harsh environments. Operations take place in all weather conditions - indoors in pressure boosting stations and outdoors when maintaining the sewer network.
Solution
By introducing offline-capable software combined with robust hardware solutions from Getac, Leipzig Waterworks was able to optimize its processes: Data digitally recorded by field service teams using mobile devices during the day is brought back to the branch by the employees after work and placed in the docking stations. Both the devices and the appropriate docking stations come from Getac Platinum Partner Mettenmeier. Data is exchanged overnight using a geographic information system (GIS); the GIS is updated and the mobile devices are provided with the latest information.
Advantages
Due to its outstandingly robust properties, the fully robust V110 notebook is ideal for field service operations, as it combines the functionality of a laptop with the mobility of a tablet. To efficiently handle daily tasks, Leipzig Waterworks benefits from reliable, robust hardware solutions with high battery performance, flexible operating concepts and displays that are easy to read at all times.
V110
The V110 is a compact and lightweight laptop with an 11.6" display that can be quickly transformed from a notebook to a tablet. Despite the powerful Intel ® Core™ processor, flash memory and a responsive graphics card, the V110 weighs just 2.1 kg and is exceptionally thin for a fully rugged laptop at 3.9 cm. Thanks to Getac's own QuadraClear ® technology, the display offers incredible clarity - both indoors and outdoors in direct sunlight.
