Leipzig Waterworks relies on fully robust V110 notebook
Efficient and secure digital processes for the operation and maintenance of the water network by Getac and Mettenmeier
Challenge
When operating and maintaining the water infrastructure in Leipzig and the surrounding communities, field workers rely on reliable mobile equipment for use in harsh environments. Operations take place in all weather conditions – indoors in pressure booster stations and outdoors during sewer network maintenance.
Solution
By implementing offline-capable software combined with robust hardware solutions from Getac, Leipzig Waterworks was able to optimize its processes: Data digitally captured by field service teams using mobile devices during the day is brought back to the branch by the employees after work and inserted into the docking stations. Both the devices and the corresponding docking stations are supplied by Getac Platinum Partner Mettenmeier. Data is exchanged overnight using a geographic information system (GIS); the GIS is updated, and the mobile devices are provided with the latest information.
Advantages
Thanks to its exceptionally robust features, the fully rugged V110 notebook is ideal for field service deployments, combining the functionality of a laptop with the mobility of a tablet. To efficiently manage daily tasks, Leipzig Waterworks benefits from reliable, robust hardware solutions with high battery performance, flexible operating concepts, and easy-to-read displays at all times.
V110
The V110 is a compact and lightweight laptop with an 11.6" display that quickly transforms from a notebook to a tablet. Despite the powerful Intel ® Core™ processor, flash memory, and a responsive graphics card, the V110 weighs just 2.1 kg and is exceptionally thin for a fully rugged laptop at just 3.9 cm. Thanks to Getac's proprietary QuadraClear ® technology, the display offers incredible clarity – both indoors and outdoors in direct sunlight.
